Erosion control and sediment barrier wattles are an important part of BMPs in reducing the velocity of concentrated flows of stormwater for optimal sediment control and filtration around storm drains, construction perimeters, open channels and any other areas that may be threatened by erosion.
Ninety7 wattles are a new category of 100% biodegradable erosion control and sediment barrier products made of environmentally safe plant-based materials.
Our goal is to provide products that are both highly effective and safe for the environment. Professional testing has shown Ninety7 wattles to have high impoundment and energy reduction capabilities that provide soil protection and sediment deposition.

To better understand the benefits of Ninety7 wattles, it’s important to see them in the context of their performance.
- Sediment Retention Rate: 93.9%
- Seepage Effectiveness: 89.4%
- Impoundment Ration Average: 109.3%
- Impoundment Length Ration Average: 84.1%
- Reusability Rate: 70-95%
Properties
- Ninety7 wattles can be used in both temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control applications.
- They are denser than woven wattles and this enhances filtration capacity by forcing water to go through a thicker filter.
- They do not roll or float because they are heavy when saturated.
- They are flexible and stretchable and can fit uneven ground surfaces, occupying undulations and short divots. This prevents unfiltered water from flowing underneath.
- Their dimensional flexibility makes them excellent for hard-to-reach applications. They easily conform to uneven ground surfaces.
- They are environmentally friendly and can be left in place after use to naturally decompose and improve soil quality. They can also be recycled to make mulch.
- They are cost effective. Gently used Ninety7 wattles can be moved to be used multiple times.
